HELPFUL HINTS Some leagues require a lot of information on lineups which you must submit to umpires. If you use your lineup tabs to your fullest advantage, you will have an excellent reference for the duration of the season. You will need two sets of lineup tabs; one for offense one for defense. On one set, write the players name in black and their uniform number in red. On the other set, write the name in black and the players age in blue. Before settling on your lineup, you have the luxury of trying endless possible combinations. If something doesn't work for you, just move it around until you are happy. It's almost too easy! When you are ready to make changes, place the substitutions tab next to the tab of the player coming out of the game. Give your changes to the umpire and place the original starter in the sub column and resume play. By leaving the substitutions tab to the right of the batting order, you can track your substitutions for the next game. To display the outs, slide an extra magnetic tab (supplied) across the numbers to the right. To display the inning and the score, just spin the magnetic baseballs to the appropriate number. The red arrow is used to designate the leadoff hitter for your next at bat. If you are the home team, cover the away graphic. If you are visiting, cover the home graphic. I let the subs look after the innings, score, outs, ect. They learn about baseball and it gives them a responsibility when they are not playing and they stay focused on the game. Last minute no-shows used to make it impossible to prepare lineups early. Go ahead, make your lineup and if you have a no-show pop that player out and slide another in. No mess, no fuss! When it's time for chalk talk, forget the chalk. Be as simple or intricate as you like. Teach your team coverage, cutoffs, bunts, steals and much, much more. "The Book" is very durable and with care, will last a long, long time. If you plan on coaching for a number of years or running multiple teams, extra magnetic name tabs can be ordered seperately on our order form. When the game ends, just close "The Book" and head home. There is no need to remove the components. When you next open the book, you will see exactly where you left off. The magnets don't move unless you move them. | ||
